    Nickelback is one of the worst pieces of musical trash to ever come out of Canada... I wish they would go away... There are so many better Canadian bands out there but they don't seem to get any play outside of Canada...

    And while I love Viva La Vida, Coldplay has so many other great songs too... But you could have put Nickelback up against 50 Cent and I would have had to choose 50 Cent just on principle...

    Seconded and agreed, respectively.

    Where does this hatred of Nickeback come from? Granted, I have only heard two of their songs (this one and "How You Remind Me"), but they haven't been that bad. They're no Rolling Stones, but where does this hated come from?

    I believe it's because all of the songs are below the mediocre range and to make matters worse all sound extremely similar. And then there's the whole thing about Chad Kroeger's voice. And how he's supposed to be a dick. There's a video on youtube of the crowd booing them off the stage at their own concert xD

    Fair enough; thanks for giving me a genuine answer. Though I don't mind Chad's voice, I can see where all of the other objections come from.

    All their songs are atrociously forulaic. The lyrics are bad. The music is uninspired and unimaginative. I like this video as a demonstration.
