So I was reading a teen novel, and Proust's In Search of Lost Time was mentioned, the actual quote was something like "you should not read Proust until after you have found and lost love." and then later I read a graphic novel Fun Home by Alison Bechdel, where something similar in relation to Proust's work was mentioned. I got so curious that I began to read it, and so far I think it's really beautiful. Why is it that "we are not supposed to read proust until after we've found and lost love"?
