Probably one of if not my FAVORITE movie of ALL TIME. I laughed sooo hard. It does not promote smoking... Stupid people judging a movie by its title.... tsk tsk. I... I'm in such an awe by how awesome the movie was I can't really decide what to say first... Anyone else seen it? Did you like it?
I saw it and I made a coment about it on another thread... I think it's a great movie about the power os speach and manipulation of the opinion
I watched it and love smoking did it since i was 13 living in mexico but since i moved to the states its harder, what i'm saying is that the movie protects people who smoke and it helps to keep non smoking people non smoking it's elaborate dialogue is excellent.
A big tobacco lobbyist and yeah... Kind of tells you to pay attention to what people say and make the choices for yourself instead of just because you see it on T.V. or something like that. I think that guy is awesome... wish I had a father figure/role model like him.
One of my favorite things in th emovie is where he is telling his kid he is never wrong... (I'm going to try to resay it but... yeah prolly going to mess it up) dad: here, lets say you are arguing that Chocolate ice cream is the best and I'm arguing for vanilla. *yadd yadda I forget* Dad: I'd ask something like "so you think chocolate ice cream is the best?" kid: Of course, I wouldn't have anything else. Dad: But I would like a choice in my ice cream. I'd like to be able to decide on something more then just chocolate. I like having options. See, I'm right. Kid: But... you didn't argue for vanilla... Dad: But I proved you wrong which makes me right. That is not exactly what is said but it is the basis... like one of my favorite scenes. lol
we watched it in our AP US Government class when we were studying about lobbyists and interest groups. Great movie.
lol The Merchents of death i love it when they are fighting over whitch person is best from the amount of people the thing they are lobying for kills.... id love to do spin it looks like so mutch fun lying for your career
It isn't lying! A great lobbyist never lies! They know how to twist a word here and there so they are still telling the truth just not mentioning certain details and making it SOUND like something else.
