2010 is turning out to be a terrible year for metal... the Slipknot bassist Paul Gray was found dead in his hotel room today. Link Even if you don't like Slipknot (and I did, they are awesome live), it's pretty sad... he was only 38 and leaves behind a pregnant wife.
Heard about this just now on facebook. It is indeed pretty unfortunate, I liked their older material a lot.
a real shame, Slipknot is/was one of the best live bands around today, while I wasn't an enormous fan of their recorded work, both times I've seen them they've blown me away. Very sad that he's leaving a pregnant wife behind too. I wonder if Slipknot will keep going now though, they've said in interviews before that they wouldn't if anything happened to any of their members so I'd say it's unlikely..
