Re: Asteroids want plan ready for asteroid hits That's somewhat of a relief I guess? It's always been a very real possibility. However, they did say they need at least 10 years to prepare (which the way things work these days means 30 years), and a lot of people these days say that the world's supposed to be destroyed in 2 years, so it looks like they brought it up too late huh?

Even so, if the world really IS destroyed by then, these plans won't really matter either way.:eusa_doh: I doubt the world's going to be destroyed though. Probably just some huge political imbalance that will change the world in a major way. There's enough evidence that something like that is on it's way even without the supposed prophecies. Seriously though, I think it's about time they put something in place for this. It's the worst possible kind of natural disaster that could devastate the world and ironically, one of the few we might actually be able to do something about.
Re: Asteroids want plan ready for asteroid hits Frankly...2012 isn't going to do anything. It will come and then go and all that will happen is like Y2K. I/o. "Oh look...nothing happened again". Like seriously am I the only person who remembers how much hype Y2K was getting? It was JUST like this frankly (minus the movie though I think there was some movie right?) And then there was the Cuban Missile Crisis...and the Cold War...and the Large Hadron Collider thing two years ago in fear of a black hole.... Let's face it, there is doomsday stuff every four years. You can even look it up...for some reason people love having doomsday scenarios every four years...dunno why but I guess they love the four year rule (I think people like putting it on a leap year cuz they're such weird years )
