In case anybody's unfamiliar with the original play: Angels in America: A Gay Fantasia on National Themes http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Angels_in_america I saw the first part just yesterday in this theatre in NY: http://www.signaturetheatre.org/angels/ It was really damn good. The characters were so much like the characters in the mini-series, it was surreal. Also, the actors portrayed the struggle with AIDS, homosexuality, and identity so well that I just cant wait to see the second part in 2 weeks! It has: Robin Bartlett (Shutter Island, "Mad About You") Zachary Quinto ("Heroes," Star Trek) Christian Borle (Legally Blonde, The Bounty Hunter) Bill Heck ("Medium," "Without a Trace," "NCIS," "CSI:NY," "Numb3rs") Zoe Kazan (Revolutionary Road, Me and Orson Wells) Billy Porter (Dreamgirls, Hair, "Law and Order") Robin Weigert ("Deadwood," "Lost," "Sons of Anarchy") Frank Wood ("Medium," "The Sopranos," "Law and Order," these lovely people are the stars: any New Yorkers going to see or have seen it?
I didn't watch the play, but I did read part of the play for my theater class, and it looked really interesting. I would definitely want to watch it someday
