    I apologize for making all these crazy threads, but I like gettin the opinions of other EC'ers.

    This one is about The Power of Love, which was performed by Jennifer Rush in 1985 and Celine Dion in 1993.

    Yeah I love Celine Dion but I think Jennifer Rush's voice was better for the song.

    Celine Dion's version is definitely better. Jennifer Rush was okay, but Celine's version had an overall better tempo and I preferred her melismatic approach.

    It's pretty much been forgotten. I can't say as I think it's superior to the other two, although it's certainly not bad. The weird thing is - the Air Supply version was the first one to be a hit in America. It got in the charts a full year before the Jennifer Rush version.

    While I don't dislike the other version(s), I feel that Celine Dion's voice is better suited for the song. She puts so much emotion into the song and she also makes it sound more smooth than the other version(s).
