Sound like a very interesting show. I remember wanting to beat the shit out of this kid when he was on Fringe lol

 

an american version of a show i really like, this could be great or absolutely awful lol

 

"Yay" for dispelling stereotypes, but "ugh" for glorifying adultery.

 

I still want to see more non-white gay males on TV. Kurt, Ian, the whole Queer as Folk cast, the Fab Five, they're all white!

 

You know there was Noah's Arc right? All black men. Also Greek I think has a black gay guy who is also an athlete. Thats breaking the mold.

 

I know I'm going to sound like a total ass, but you know that the amount of actors in Hollywood are kind of like a large number of white people. I mean if you want black actors or like other actors of a different race, why not go and try to start acting? I mean I know you're going to hate me for this, but if you're going to complain why not start to do something about it? Fact is, a lot of Hollywood is white, plain and simple, if you don't like it, then DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!

And I'm sorry if this comes off as racist, because that is totally not my intention.

Haha, yeah I got the impression Markio is white so I don't think him magically becoming a black actor able to demand a gay role is gonna happen anytime soon.

Why your reaction Revan? We still do have the right to be annoyed at things and share our annoyance even though we have 0.00% chance of doing something about it. And while I do imagine that Hollywood is pretty damn white, there are shows that are mostly african-american all over UPN and a few other networks that probably don't have one redeeming gay character. I'd discount Noah's Arc because that was hardly mainstream--it was on Logo which is a gay network likely only watched by gay/bi folks.

But I do know a couple instances of non-white young gay characters on mainstream shows, such as the boyfriend dude on Degrassi who is Asian, and Justin on Ugly Betty is latino.

 

I watched the first episode yesterday. Good show. I'm glad that he's not like all the stereotypes. Not that they're bad, but they're just too common in movies/tv shows imo.

 

The only issue I have is that he seriously looks like a 14 year old. XD (No offense to 14 year olds, Just saying it doesn't fit the character XD)

And honestly, the people saying he's an anti-stereotype. No, he's not. That's another stereotype. XD

I saw him in an article on Advocate and he looks different on the show. With only two episodes I can't say if he's really the anti-Kurt, but seems to be so far.

I'd like to see an average gay kid on a TV show or movie. Someone average and ordinary, in an average family, who just happens to be gay. No big deal, no bigger than being average height or having brown hair. The kid would just be going through all the average stuff that most do/did in high school and/or college. If this theoretical show had good writing, acting, directing, etc., it could be like an updated Dawson's Creek/Felicity.
