I think they intended it as a joke, and now that it's caused a backlash, are desperately trying to deny it. It's inconceivable that no one, from the ad agency to the network execs, would have noticed that "catch VD" had a secondary meaning from the one they'd attached to it. I just wish people would own up to their stupidity instead of lying their asses off.
I am glad there are stupid people like this... they bring sunshine and laughter to our lives with their idiocy.
After the complete and utter stupidity that was them pulling Smallville and Supernatural from the schedule ONE DAY they were supposed to air last week after much hype to give TVD and Nikita more exposure, nothing surprises me anymore with this network. I miss the WB.
They were supposed to add a gay character. The producer dude promised he would. Turns out he lied and won't after all.. fucking awesome!
I should have known. CW = teen drama = puke. However, my brain saw the word "vampire." I watched the first two episodes when it first started. Bad idea. It's like Twilight, except slightly less retarded but not less painful to watch. And the books came before Twilight was even conceived. By the way, nice abuse of the term VD. Clever, but stupid.
The producer, Kevin Williamson, said he would be adding a gay character to VD this season, but now he's backtracking and said that he never said that and won't add a gay character this season after all.. What a pathetic loser Wiliamson is. I'm serious, he is gay himself. Firsly he lied and said he would add a gay character. Secondly, he can't add a gay character on the show with witches, werewolves and vampires.. witches is ok, but not gay people? And this is a man who is gay himself! That is why I'm mad at him. I'm just glad I never started to watch this show, and I certainly won't now!
