I was actually discussing this the other day, they do, queen, kiss and gaga so i think an adam lambert song would be great not sure how they would fit it in though. And im just a complete disney freak but i think a few classic disney movie songs would be great to, especially with rachels vocals.
As someone who doesn't enjoy this show but want to understand the people who do, there's something I have to ask so I can gain a better understanding of its fandom; if anything, it will help me appreciate the answers to this thread better. To the people replying to this thread: you obviously desire to see these songs sung by the cast members of Glee. Does that mean that you enjoy Glee's cover versions of the songs more than the original versions of the songs? Or is there something else motivating you to want to see these songs in the show?
I don't know if I speak for anybody else, but I like it when songs I like are on it because it can offer a new take on the song, bringing new emotions and meaning to the song. Also, it lets me talk about it with my friends and I can say "Hey, did you hear xxxx on Glee last night? I love that song?" and if they liked it, they might want to hear more from the original artist, resulting a new regular conversation topic. Also, it lets our favorite characters have more screen time and if you have a crush on the actor, you want them to get all the screen time possible. :icon_bigg

I know for me, the appeal is really in the mashup of the songs that they do, and how appropriate they are to the storyline of the show. I mean, who would think to do a remix on Michael Jackson's "Thriller" with the Yeah Yeah Yeahs' "Heads Will Roll"? I do think some of the Glee cast cover versions are better than the originals. But I love how the songs that each of the characters sing are reflective of their personalities. Like, there is just not a better song out there for Rachel in my opinion than "Rain On My Parade". And...I wish people really did break into impromptu life and dance. Life should be more like a musical. :lol:
I'd love to see them perform "Help is on the way" by Rise against but I doubt they'd be allowed to, I'd post a video but I am unable due to a cripling lack of ability
The reason I love glee that much is because, to me, their versions of the songs they usually cover are "upgraded" versions of the original. There are some exceptions, but most of all I like more than the original.
