For me it's a cross between TNG and Voyager.

Soooo the original series....although maybe I'm biased because of Ahura's uniform.

It's close, but I think I'd have to go with Voyager.

My parents are Trekkies too, and they'd watch it often, but I didn't really find myself getting into any of the series until I started watching Voyager. From there, I started watching and enjoying the others. Voyager was my gateway Trek. =P

I liked that they had some strong female characters in there. I think that was what intrigued me.

Second fave would be TNG, though I do so love the camp of the original, too.

    TNG, and original.
    DS9 isn't bad. Voyager isn't bad.
Enterprise is a pile of steaming dogshit.

I think Enterprise is the best Star Trek!
I guess Kirk was pretty cool in The Next Generation though.

    (No But serisously)

TNG and Voyager are the best.
I have not watched DS:9 but I have tried...and Enterprise is good in a Jack Bauer running a Spaceship kind of way. (Not good)

One must love Star Trek. I especially love the original Star Trek, even when it's cheesy. No, particularly when it's cheesy.

I agree that Enterprise was probably the worst, but I didn't hate it. I think I was willing to forgive them a lot after showing me T'Pol in the steam room.

The rest of the options given are all pretty close for me. DS-9 was interesting, insofar as it was a different format from the rest. Being in a space station rather than on a ship allowed different kinds of plots and ongoing storylines.

But no one has mentioned Star Trek: The Animated Series! Perhaps the ultimate in cheesy Star Trek geeky awesomeness.

:slight_smile:icon_redf Is it bad that I know Vulcans have green blood and two sets of eyelids, and that Klingons have two hearts? :icon_redf)

I fell in love with Voyager (namely Capt. Janeway) when I would watch reruns at 11pm on UPN before I would go to sleep in highschool. It took a couple of years, but I was finally able to buy the whole series on DVD.

If I didn't have such a strong emotional attachment to Voyager I might go with The Next Generation, but Voyager is just too special to me.

    mine too! sort of anyway.

The first Trek I ever saw was First Contact and I loved it, and Voyager was the first series I watched and I got into it from there.

I love all Trek (well... maybe not Enterprise ;P ) but I have to call myself a Niner (at least after the 1st 2 seasons). The characters and acting were far and away the best (over the whole cast - the other series' had some better actors, but it wasn't spread far), the long term storylines and the darker, more realistic atmosphere were great.

    Also, Julian Bashir.

TNG was the first series I ever saw. It's impossible to fall in love for the first time twice, so I still count it as my favourite. I still remember being scared by the introduction of the Borg, and being awed by the (for the time) awesome special effects.

Also, Picard was awesome, and I had a mild crush on Wesley Crusher :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

After that, it's hard to pick. I generally like Voyager for its sense of adventure, and DS9 for its sense of gritty realism.

Never seen TOS, and I feel that Enterprise would have been improved if it was set on mirror-universe evil-earth

Yes, but only because the Klingons have two stomachs, not two hearts.

Voyager is overrated. It's mostly a rehash of TNG with a lot of wasted opportunities. The Maquis were invented for Voyager and then mostly forgotten. The Doctor saves it on occasion. But I'll never forgive them for taking the most fearsome enemy in Star Trek and making them rubbish.

Also, Janeway should have been put on trial for murdering Tuvix rather than being promoted to Admiral. WTF?

I agree, they ruined the Borg. One tiny little intrepid class ship managing to beat back fleets of Borg Cubes? I don't think so. I have a friend who is into ST way more than me and he loathes Voyager. I only like it because it was my gateway into the Trek universe. If I had seen another series first I would imagine I wouldn't rate it very highly either.

Tuvix was the result of a transporter accident that fused both Tuvok and Neelix together...

DS9 is definitely my favourite - an awesome cast of characters, great storylines and storyarcs.

I couldn't stand Voyager, just seemed to be repeating TNG with duller than dull characters. The only saving grace was The Doctor. Loved TNG though

I gave up on Enterprise after 8 episodes so can't really comment. I have been told that it got better.
