Digimon Anyone?

Just thought I'd ask. Anyone here watch the original seasons, or any of the future ones?

I'm watching the current season that's airing in Japan, Xros Wars, and was wondering if anyone else was watching it?

But in general, I never realized we didn't have a Digimon thread. As the anime is the main digimon franchise, I put it in Entertainment, rather than games, because the games tend to flop horribly, even though they aren't bad games.

Anyway, like I said, has anyone watched the newest season that's in japan so far? I'm actually quite hooked on it. It's so different from the past seasons.

 

Yes. The current season is about 3 kids pulled into the Digital World, one is given a Xros Loader (this season's digivice), which is capable of fusing together digimon. He makes a partner in Shoutmon, aiming to become the Digimon King. The other 2 kids are essentially cheerleaders, lol.

There's an evil digimon army trying to take over the digital world, and 2 other human kids with Xros Loaders trying to do their own thing.

So Taiki (the main character with the red Xros Loader) is the general of Shoutmon's army, and they recruit digimon throughout the episodes to join them, which results in new DigiXrosses. (Fusions) Though, Shoutmon is always the base in the used fusions.

It's 30 episodes in as of today, but should be slowing down, as the second "arc" is starting. (Think the first season when the kids went back to earth as their second arc.) Story change, etc.

Even though we saw magazine scans, it's still pretty shocking. XD

Honestly, this season is shaping up to be my favorite. I didn't like Data Squad/Savers at all, and Frontier always bugged me. Tamers was meh, and Adventure 02 was meh as well. So the original is still my favorite, but honestly, by the end of this season, it may not be.

 

I honestly always found the most touching episodes to be the one where Patamon first digivolves, the one where Birdramon digivolves after Sora shouts "Birdramon, No, I love you!" and the episode where Angemon digivolves when TK and Kari are the only ones left.

I'm such a sap.

 

The part I find horrible is that in the original japanese dialogue, Sora doesn't shout I love you. Probably one of the few dub changes that vastly improved the original's dialogue, even if it's just one sentence.

It's her feelings of love for her mother, after she realizes she was always just thinking about what's best for Sora that caused the Digivolution. All she shouted was "BIRDRAMON!"
