The Lens Stained Red by Robert

    As I look out
    Across THEIR nation
    I see a people
    So filled with hate
    An angry people
    Proclaiming
    Hate
    Violence
    Death
    Damnation
To anybody who cannot see the world through their eyes
    Through The Lens Stained Red
    The red of hate

    I turned around

    I turned around
To look out across MY nation
    A nation filled with people
    People who suffer from despair
A despair brought down by the wrath
    Of The Lens Stained Red
    I feel their despair
And I suffer through their pains

    And Yet

    They still stand strong
    The people of MY Nation
    They bear the pain
    While shouting their cries
    Of “RAISE YOUR GLASS”
    And “BORN THIS WAY”
    They refuse to let
    The Lens Stained Red
    Stand in their way
    They parade through the streets
    Their banners waving
    Their flags flying
    Never satisfied
    Until The Lens Stained Red
    Is once more washed clean

    They won’t stop until
    THEIR Nation
    Sees the world
    Through A Lens Stained Pink.

Wow, I really like your poem! It's sad, touching, and sort of hopeful at the same time.
You should look up some info to get this published, like Doug and Fan said. That would be awesome.
And you should write some more poetry because you're good at it!! :icon_mrgr
