My brand new poem. I'm trying to decide if I'm going to add more to the end or not, but I was very content with my work

    Things Change

    I embrace a second Renaissance,
    Where friendly enemies come together
And create fabricated love before spewing falsehood
through their perfect teeth and silver tongues.
This world truly is a paradise lost.

Our leaders wage their possessions, knowledge and all,
in a surreal and incomprehensible battlefield,
    where means justify the consequences,
whether they’re staring us in the face
or deeper in the patchwork of time.

They go all or nothing in an attempt
    To reach perfection and infallibility.
    Go on, I dare you.
Keep shoving your ideas down my throat
And see how far it gets you in this “utopia”.

It's awesome! I think you did a great job at portraying your idea. If only the government would listen to the important stuff, though.
