I know that the majority of people are against Katy Perry's song 'Ur So Gay,' but since the cute little kitten that is my avatar has your attention, I want to say what I think about it. To me, it seems like the song's criticizing gay stereotypes - mainly that someone who's 'overly sensitive' or fashion-conscious is gay instead of maybe metro - instead of using 'gay' as an insult. Thoughts?
Having spent the last few weeks working at a place where "Firework" plays 800 times a day, I'm going to say I'm more against Katy Perry in general than the song.
I don't know I just heard the song after searching 'gay songs' on youtube (cuz you know I am just that cool), I really liked the tune, but i took the song as saying that girly boys are gay.
So, after searching AND searching some more (and getting side-tracked by all these old threads ), I FINALLY found what I was looking for. http://emptyclosets.com/forum/lgbt-...lity/21217-lyrics-your-so-gay-katy-perry.html I'm not advising to stop the discussion in this thread, but since one already exists, you can kinda get an idea on what many members thought about this song when it came out.
