any good bands???

    Hi :slight_smile: So I really love music, it's my life, and I am in desperate need for some new songs for my music library. I prefer bands to solo artists, and I really love indie and alternative music. Some of my fav bands are Tegan and Sara, Florence + The Machine, Meg & Dia, Matt and Kim, MGMT, Paramore, and The Postal Service. Does anyone have any suggestions for good bands/groups???

    How about Shiny Toy Guns? I prefer their older stuff by far, but it's all pretty good. You might also like Blue Foundation. Frou Frou is good. My favorite unsigned band is called Green or Blue, and you can find them on facebook or bandcamp, their stuff is fantastic.

    All pretty awesome suggestions so far.

    I'll go with Marina and the Diamonds, Muse, Iron & Wine, Bon Iver, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Adele just because I'm in love with her <3

    With a username like Eleanor Rigby, it's definitely true, the Beatles are of course a good band. No sorry, fantastic. :grin:

    You already got Paramore :slight_smile:

    Song wise you should listen to Shooting Star by Air Traffic Controll and One Day Like This by Elbow. Also If No One Will Listen by Kelly Clarkson if you're feeling sentimental. That's all I can think of right now.

    The bands I love are Sonata Arctica, Nightwish, Within Temptation, Delain, Epica, Hammerfall, Apocalyptica, Stratovarius, Gamma Ray, Edguy & Helloween, although there are many others too. Mostly I listen to a lot of power metal (sounds like 80s hair metal a little with some of them, but without the cheese) & symphonic metal (think Metallica w/orchestra, but those bands are female-fronted & super-awesome!) All the ones I mentioned are living on my iPhone right now, so they're really good!

    If you haven't heard any Canadian music, I recommend The Tragically Hip, Joel Plaskett Emergency, The Trews The Tea Party, The Arkells, Spirit Of The West and Great Big Sea. All awesome Canadian bands!
