Anyone familiar with this play/movie? The real question here is this: I'm doing Emory's monologue from Act 2, and I was wondering if I should mimic the voice that Cliff Gorman had used or if I shouldn't.

I've seen the movie: it's supposed to be the first film where the gay characters don't die. Previously they would either be murdered or kill themselves (Children's Hour).

As for mimicking his voice: make sure there is a reason for speaking that way. Make character choices that give the words real personal meaning for you. Speaking as though entranced is a definite choice, but it may come across as insincere without your own personal emotions behind it.
