    I do like male singers, but have always liked female singers much more.

    My personal Top Ten Favorites are:

    JanetJackson
    Madonna
    BritneySpears
    Beyonce
    Rihanna
    Cher
    Cyndi Lauper
    Diana Ross
    Toni Braxton

    There are several big names left out, while several pop icons made it. I love R&B though it's so sexy, and a little harder the pure Pop while still not being Rock.... Also love Female rappers like Missy, Lil Kim, Trina, Nicki Minaj and Lady Sovereign.

    Love the gritty and raw emotions in music i can understand that, i like a good beat and real soul... Whitney Houston should have been on my list. But you have some true icons on your list, Joplin makes me cry to much listening knew she sings and i feel it to much, cry baby by her kills me, it just rips my heart out... I really like Beth Ditto and Gossip to, i love Dolly Parton to, and Reba and Shania, i'm from a country loving family so i do love hearing it sometimes.

    Yeah it is hard to do a top ten list theres so many singers i love, alot of your picks would make my top 20 list like Adele, Pink, Kelly Clarkson, Avril, and Gwen, i also love Katy Perry, Ke$ha, Ciara, Aaliyah, Lady Gaga, Donna Summer, Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, JoJo, Peaches, Fantasia, Jennifer Lopez, Gloria Gaynor i love music so much.... I love more then i hate for sure...

    Other people who didn't quite make it would be Leona Lewis, Kelly Clarkson, Whitney Houston, the Spice Girls, Sara Bareilles, Martina McBride, and the Dixie Chicks.
