The title pretty much explains it. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

I want your opinions on which book I should read next.

    Dragon Haven by Robin Hobb
The Crippled God by Steven Erikson
    Poetics by Aristotle
    Metaphysics by Aristotle
Of Human Nature by David Hume
    Thus Spoke Zarathustra by Nietzsche
    Ethics by Spinoza
    Caesar by Adrian Goldsworthy
The Selfish Gene by Richard Dawkins
Return of the Crimson Guard by Ian Esslemont
    Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand

I'll end up reading all of them eventually. I'm just having a hard time deciding where to go first.

While I have not yet gotten a chance read "The Selfish Gene," Dawkins has never disappointed me when it comes to his works. It's also his first book, which explained some of his hypotheses on genetics which are still both highly regarded and contested within the scientific community. I intend to read it once I have time... which will likely be sometime in 2014.

Depends how long ago you read the rest of Malazan Book of the Fallen. If it was recently, and you actually have some memory of more than a small number of the abstruse details and characters and whatever the hell has been happening, I would definitely go straight into Crippled God.

Otherwise... Aristotle is kinda dull. Rand I fervently dislike, but people tell me she's good. Hume and Nietsche are certainly much better (seeing Dworkin on your list too... Andromeda Neitscheans much? (I'm a nerd. I know :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: )). Haven't read any of the others, although I imagine Goldworthy is probably readable (I've used some of his articles on occasion).
