Hell yessss! I love Queer as Folk. I credit it with being the show that really helped me acknowledge that I'm gay (not straight or bi). I watched the entire series the summer that I was 15.

It's one of my favorite shows! I learned so much from the characters and everything they go through. I still remember sneaking out of my room at night to watch it on Showtime. I'd have to sit smack up against the TV so my family wouldn't wake up to the sounds of two (and sometimes more) dudes having sex. xD

Unfortunately I can't recommend an online viewing venue... But now that I'm out I can just buy it on DVD instead.

It only lasted two seasons, I think,

I remember watching the UK original on S4C* on my Casio handheld TV with my earphones in so no one else would see/hear it (I had to share a room with my brother at the time) - annoyingly S4C showed it a bit later than on Channel 4 (about 23:30!) but I couldn't get a decent picture on the portable TV for Channel 4's showing!

A couple of years later I bought in on DVD and then realised I needed to by a DVD player too (In my defence I had a DVD drive in my PC but didn't realise I had no DVD playing software!)

Was only the third thing I can ever remember seeing gay characters in it - the first two being an advert for women's deodorant ( Impulse Advert - Chance Encounter - The Female of The Species - Space - YouTube ) and somet or another on Eastenders.

Currently working my way through the American series - ISTR series 1 being shown on BBC Choice than E4 showing series 3 but with no broadcasts of series 2 on UK TV!

*For those who don't know S4C is a Welsh language channel which broadcast Channel 4's English language prime time programming a bit later than normal after the Welsh stuff ended for the day.

I loved QAF (US version). I still do. I watched the entire show online on youtube

I've never seen the UK version so I can't compare but if you're looking for that version, I'm sure you could find that online as well

I watched the first season. it was okay, but I felt it was heavy on stereotypes.

I do love the mom, and I am a sucker for hal sparks.

Same, and Robert Gant <3. The scene in episode 9 season 5, the beginning in their kitchen, hot as hell. Same goes for when Justin and Hobbs in episode 4 of season 1.

I love Queer As Folk. It was the first gay show I ever watched. Loved it even when it drove me crazy. I've only seen all of the US version and from that I can tell you it's a really good show. Stupid and crazy at times, but what show isn't? lol

---------- Post added 23rd Dec 2011 at 10:35 PM ----------

Emmett was definitely my favorite! Loved him, even during the time he had that thing with drug Ted, maybe even more so. <3

Is the actor playing Stuart Allan Jones just as cheekily hot?

I think EVERY sex scene with Justin is hot as hell
Also loved the scenes where Brian would have sex with a random guy as part of his job. The ad exec at the banquet where he was awarded top ad rep of the year (the one where he got offered a position in New York). Or when he had sex with a guy on a photocopier to find out where Brown Athletics boss was dining, or the guy he had sex with in the washroom at his office to try and win the pitch. Wow....he does a lot for his job So much effort.

I watched the American one when I was like 15. The scene where Michael and Ben are having sex in the kitchen was like

'Well... there is no way I am anything other than Gay'

Strange thing is, I think that episode is like 5 seasons in, so I don't know how I got that far in without already having that realisation, but there you go.
