Saw a nice movie about a transsexual woman on Netflix last night... Different for Girls - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This movie did do a lot of things right. It expresses the idea that you can be a woman without falling into living as a female stereotype. You should never let being trans change who you are as a person. I'm still the same person I always was, except that I'm more confidence and I have a lot more self-esteem. The movie's protagonist fell into this over-feminized role and was absolutely miserable. It wasn't until she met this free spirit that she began to realize it was okay to express herself in some masculine ways. Gender roles are a social construct, after all, and often they are not for everyone.
