The Hobbit - an Unexpected Journey Probably old news for y'all Americans, but I'm nearly fit for a straight-jacket, I'm that excited! (!) The "prequel" to the LoTR trilogy, for those who don't know, detailing a (relatively) younger Bilbo Baggins's adventure with Thorin Oakenshield and his company of dwarves to evict the dragon Smaug from their old crib - the Lonely Mountain. Amongst other awesomeness, the story reveals (much more) of that sordid love affair between Bilbo, Gollum, and the One Ring. Kinky! Sorry if this has been posted elsewhere. I did a search, nothing came up so... :icon_bigg
Sooo gonna watch this! It looks great, and I like how they are keeping it in line with the LotR films – the sets, cast, and music are all related. I wonder if they are going to set it up to match the LotR film prologue, as that has shots of Bilbo finding the ring and all.
I'm planning on seeing this but it's so far off ... A whole year. Lol. Hopefully it will be worth the wait.
Bilbo "finds" the ring, and both the book and the film (it better) feature his outsmarting Gollum to take it - or the Ring outsmarting Bilbo to outsmart Gollum... creepy semi-sapient shiny thing. It features some new cast, some old cast, and just plain awesomeness. Gandalf is Gandalf is Gandalf, as always XD
I read The Hobbit so long ago, the movie will be like fresh material for me. XD I'm just excited for Lee Pace to be in something that isn't Marmaduke. >_>
Just saw the trailer today, I'm so exicted! It looks really good as expected! Ohhh we're gonna get to see Smegal again, learn some new songs, have some more misadventures with funny loveable characters with awesome names, my nerdiness can hardly sustain the excitement! I want to see the 1st day midnight showing, something I've never done with any movie. I will stand in a long cold line if I have to. Eeek! Can't wait! <3 :icon_bigg
I know! geekgasm! XD When the dwarves started singing the dwarven dirge type song - that sent chills up my spine. The music in the LoTR was orgasmic, and the Hobbit promises to be just as awesome!
It's been so long since I read the book...but I'm really looking forward to it. Looks like it should be amazing!
I've pretty much been bubbling over with glee ever since this movie has been announced! I've been dying for a live-action Hobbit movie, ever since I was small! :::: ))) So excited!!!!!!!!
I think, as a complete and utter geekeriffic challenge - I will reread the hobbit, the LoTR (and snooze through the Council of Elrond and several other chapters), and rewatch the special extended director's cut premium holy-fark-this-is-a-long-epic-movie movies before I go see Hobbit. Whenever it comes out. XD
Peter Jackson also posted a bunch of "production diaries" where he take you around the sets and shows costumes and things of that nature. He is so much fun, sort of like a close friend giving you a private tour. Here is the first one: Production Diary #1 I'm so excited!
Can't wait, grew up with the first three lord of the rings and never expected this. Hope its worth the wait.
The Hobbit was my childhood. Watching the trailer felt like home. Heh, sometimes I wish Middle Earth was my home.
