I just love Cyndi Lauper. Here is what she said about signing the PFLAG Straight for Equality Pledge.... I really love what she said: On October 11th, I signed the Straight For Equality Pledge, not because I have a sister who is a lesbian or have fans and friends in the community. I put my name on that document because it's outrageous that members of the GLBT community still do not have the same rights as straight people in America. It's hard to imagine that in the 21st century, 200+ years since this country was founded, that there is still a portion of our society that does not have equal rights. That is unfair, it's unAmerican and I encourage “ALL” Americans, whether they know someone that is GLBT or not to sign the petition.. Chances are you do in fact know someone who is GLBT, whether a close relative or a co-worker or neighbor…. Cyndi was in DC at the PFLAG National Convention. That is when she signed the pledge and did the news release. I love Cyndi! She is a great support for the GLBT community!
