I just started reading this novel called The Song of Achilles (which, by the way, got an award recently: BBC News - Orange Prize won by Madeline Miller's debut tale of heroic romance) At its heart is the romantic story between Achilles and Patroclus. I have only read about 1/3rd of the novel but I am really enjoying it and just wanted to recommend it to everyone here
I heard about this book yesterday. I haven't read it yet, but I thought it was groovy that it had a "homosexual subtext" as I heard it. Is the book any good? I generally read as many reviews as possible before buying a book.
I wouldn't call it as having a "homosexual subtext'', the gay romance is pretty front and center in the novel. I generally like historical fiction, so a historical (sortof) novel with a gay plot line is even better for me
