Ladies and gentlemen, introducing the final boss of Valve's puzzle game, Half-Life 2: Portal, GLaDOS!

In Portal, you're a woman named Chell who wakes up in the hybernation chamber of a high-tech research laboratory. There are no other humans present, and your only interaction is with a bio-mechanical computer named GLaDOS who refers to you as a test subject, and leads you through test after life-threatening test, all of which involve the use of a portal gun.

She is very encouraging, although quite cold and callous. Then, at the end of the experiment, as she's congratulating you, she attempts to dump you into a furnace. You escape, and endure her verbal abuse as you frantically search for a way out of the laboratory, which eventually leads you to the chambers of GLaDOS herself....

I hope you enjoyed that! Want to hear more of the ever charming GLaDOS? Well, somebody ripped all of her audio files from the game's directory and posted them on Youtube! Have a listen! Warning, they're LONG, but well worth it! Some of the things she says, particularly in the first installment, are a barrel of laughs! The third installment is SUPER creepy! Enjoy!

That's my favorite part ^^ I just love that part, how she goes on and on about how important the cube is, then forces you to kill it, then RIGHT after you do, she informs you that, out of all the other test subjects, you were the fastest to destroy the cube, like she's making you out to be the monster!

GLaDOS totally blows all the other evil AIs in any other game out of the water. This is coming from the biggest System Shock fan you'll ever meet, too! SHODAN may have been evil, but GLaDOS is just completely insane!

    :O

That was the exact moment that I realized just how genius this game was. This game made me feel absolutely horrible about burning an inanimate cube. GLaDOS is just an incredible villain.

Also, I felt guilty every time I tipped over one of those turrets. "I don't blame you" "black heart...failing" "Why.....?". Something about their voices actually made me empathize with machines that were trying to kill me.

Portal is absolutely one of the best and most original games I've ever played. GLaDOS is hilarious.

Portal is probably the funniest game I've every played. Probably the only thing better than playing it is having your very own companion cube.

Possibly one of the greatest games ever!

My favorite part of her speech. Really creepy, too, because if you've played Half-Life 2, you know who she's talking about when she mentions "them." I'm fairly certain that this is the most concrete link between this world and the rest of the Half-Life universe. Here's hoping Gordon Freeman and Chell meet up...Chell could certainly use the weapons...and Freeman could use the intelligence :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:
