I've finished reading this brilliant book over the weekend. It's a fantastic and emotional novel by Alan Hollinghurst which was adapted for telly a couple of years ago. I watched it then, but reading the book had a far greater effect on me. What really struck me was how many situations described within the prose I've actually experienced myself when you see a bloke and discreetly eye them up etc. But one thing I've failed to do is snort a line! Has anyone else read it? What do you think?
I know of it... I have the DVD on order via DVDs-by-mail at one of our local shops but it's pretty far down the list. It sounds pretty interesting, though.
The book's fab, though I want to see the tv episodes again to compare them both. Though what more can you ask for? Gay sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll during the Thatcher years!
