I love Simple Plan and the Goo Goo Dolls. Simple plan is sort of light punk, and the Goo Goo Dolls are just amazing
Everly - although based on the bands you posted, Everly might not be your cup of tea Rise Against Sixx AM Adam Lambert (my guilty pleasure that no one knows I listen to >.>) Three Days Grace Three Doors Down Foster the People The Offspring
Sludge Metal: Acid King Boris Cave-In Kayo Dot Old Man Gloom Torche The Melvins Post-Punk/New Wave: The Cure Joy Division Swans Talking Heads The Police The Smiths Post-Hardcore: ...And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead At The Drive-In Braid Failure Hum Form of Rocket Grunge: Bush Foo Fighters Incubus Jimmy Eat World Nirvana Queens of the Stone Age Progressive Rock Genesis King Crimson Pink Floyd Porcupine Tree The Mars Volta Yes Post-Rock Gastr Del Sol Godspeed You! Black Emperor Mogwai Satellite Lost Slint Tortoise That's some of what I listen to... based on what you've said so far I'd recommend the grunge and post-hardcore bands. I'm not well-educated on electronic music though so someone else could probably put together a list of good house and dub artists. Jazz is also something I'm still educating myself on.
I love the fact that Skillet has been mentions twice <3 Bloody amazing band And Sixx Am <3 Damn amazing!!!
Today I learned that Spatula and Owen are pretty damn rad. I see that a lot of Angelblood's favorites are emo-ish Metalcore and Post-Hardcore. I guess if I were to recommend some kind of "gateway" bands for you, I'd say Brand New, The Sound of Animals Fighting and Thrice? I would suggest some of Spatula's Post-Hardcore recommendations but I think it might be a bit difficult to approach from your... interests currently. Thrice is fairly easy to get into, and its earlier albums are kind of basic post-hardcore (basic, not pioneering/essential mode). Brand New is a silly story for me. I find its earliest albums pretty boring. The Devil And God Are Raging Inside Me and Daisy are much more audible albums imo Then I guess the sound of Animals Fighting? Yeah, that's cool I guess
Bullet for my valentine, Sixx AM, A7X (Avenged Sevenfold), The Distillers, Metallica, Within Temptation, maybe Disturbed and ReVamp, ACDC.. Etc.
