Hubble Ultra Deep Field

  1. So I've taken a look at the image that The Hubble Telescope had taken back in 1995 (Hubble Deep Field) and 2004 (Hubble Ultra Deep Field). It makes me think of how insignificant we all are compared to the entire universe around. We just so small and so lucky to actually have this planet support life and have us here. It's so amazing and so terrifying. They managed to see objects 13 billion light years away from us. Scientists are building a new telescope that will observe even further. The amazing part is we don't know what we'll see because it's believed that the Universe is actually 14 billion years old. We managed to peek 13 billion light years into the universe. The strange part is that we are actually looking at the objects as they were 13 billion years ago, the light took that long to reach our planet. We are looking back in time. We don't know what we'll see beyond that once the new telescope is finished this decade. It's amazing that we are lucky to be living. If only more people would understand more. Earth is just a speck of sand in an island surrounded by a sea at a cosmic level.

The universe is such a wondrous place and life such an improbability, you think people would be able to realize just how lucky we are as a species and stop senselessly fighting one another.

youtube video for anyone who's curious as to what the deep field looks like.
