I am looking for suggestions for movies that will make me cry. I don't cry at romantic movies, it just doesn't happen. I am looking for movies with either really depressing endings or somewhat happy endings. If the movie is about someone or a group of people going through a struggle it will probably work. Any suggestions?
I Am Sam One True Thing Wit Rent Rent is a musical but it's very touching and I cry every time I watch it.
The end of Gattaca usually does it for me... especially since the movie is basically about being shunned by society for something they have no control over, pretending to be something they're not, the fear of being caught and exposed - interesting parallels to be made, whether it was the scriptwriter's intention or not.
Although some people might disagree... Haha. My favorite movie: The Butterfly Effect. Not really the romance genre, more of a thriller/suspense I guess? Either way, I love what the movie is about and the ending still makes me cry to this day. The second one is also good. The third, ehhh... Not as much. Haha,
I was just about to suggest Gattaca. One of my favourite sci-fi movies, very under-rated. Anything by Pixar seems to have some sort of emotional bit Toy Story 3 and Up especially have some really sad scenes... I may be confusing it with another movie, but if I recall correctly Saving Private Ryan is pretty sad. I saw War Horse when it was out in theatres and that has A TON of sad scenes. Many critics advised viewers to bring kleenex with them lol And I don't know if I'm the only one but I always find the ending of Lord of the Rings to be very emotional. It's best though if you watch all three movies as the final scenes of Return of the King will mean a lot more.
