I have just arrived from a Bullet for my Valentine concert, very tired and achy from the mosh pit. But they were awesome supported by Skindred and Still Remains, who were also incredible. Anyway, I'm interested in what concerts you guys have been to. Here's my list: Evanescence, May 2003 Seether, May 2003 My Chemical Romance, September 2004 Millencolin, November 2005 Flogging Molly, November 2005 Bullet for my Valentine, January 2006 Lordi, October 2006 Turisas, October 2006 My Chemical Romance, May 2007 Turisas, September 2007
I haven't been to very many, but I'm totally addicted to them. Ozzy Osbourne Rob Zombie My Chemical Romance In This Moment Going to Nightwish in May. Probably going to Gigantour in May (Megadeth, Children of Bodom, Job For a Cowboy, In Flames)
My ex knew the original drummer from Skindred. Apparently. I've been to a fair few gigs, although I've seen hundreds of bands. Festivals are the trick. Go to a festival, you'll see around eight great bands a day if you're lucky. Not bad, 'eh? My real list is huge. I'm not gonna fill it in in full unless someone can hopefully find the full list I posted a few months ago? As it is, for now I'll just name the fairly big ones. [spunge] - 20th February, 2004; Middlesbrough Town Hall Crypt (first gig ever) The Damned - Easter 2004; Middlesbrough Town Hall (legends of goth-punk!) Funeral For a Friend - May 4th 2004; Middlesbrough Town Hall (Kerrang reviewed this gig, only gig I've ever been to that got reviewed in Middlesbrough, got 5/5 Ks) The Buzzcocks - Easter 2005; Middlesbrough Town Hall Crypt (legends of pop-ish punk, I also met Acey Slade of Murderdolls that night) [*]Foo Fighters - August 2005; Leeds Bramham Park (Leeds festival final day) My Chemical Romance - 3rd November 2005; Brixton Academy, London (had to leave early ) [*]Tool - 9th June 2006; Donington Racecourse (Download Fest headliner) [*]KoRn - 10th June 2006; Donington Racecourse (Download fest, gig played entirely with guest singers after Jonathan Davies nearly died the morning of the gig, the band carried on with his blessing and guest singers ) [*]Metallica - 10th June 2006; Donington Racecourse (Download Fest headliner) [*]Guns N Roses - 11th June 2006; Donington Racecourse (Download Fest headliner) Zebrahead/Skindred - June 2006; Middlesbrough Town Hall (Middlesbrough Music Live rock stage) Killswitch Engage - 21st August 2006; Wolverhampton Wulfrun (recognise that venue, pirateninja?) Newton Faulkner - June 2007; Centre Square, Middlesbrough (Middlesbrough Music Live main stage) [*]Lacuna Coil - 17th August 2007; Catton Hall, Derby (Bloodstock Open Air headliner) [*]Finntroll - 18th August 2007; Catton Hall, Derby (Bloodstock Open Air, not a headliner, but... memorable nonetheless) [*]In Flames - 18th August 2007; Catton Hall, Derby (Bloodstock Open Air headliner) There really have been hundreds more. One day, I'll dig up that list. Even that won't really be complete, and one day I reckon I'll even try and get a date and complete list of each and every gig I've gone to. That would be interesting. Could count exactly how many bands I've seen live In the case of most festivals - except Middlesbrough Music Live - I've linked the gigs to a page with the full lineup on.
Radiohead twice Red Hot Chili Peppers Travis twice Beck twice Phantom Planet The Arcade Fire The Pixies The Flaming Lips The Cure And some more from Coachella '04 and '06.
I can't wait until I live in a city where concerts are actually held. >.< Seriously, this city is concert-deprived.
Here are some of the concerts I've been to recently. I'm not a huge fan of metal so a lot of those ones I went with my friend who loves that genre. -Slayer, Children of Bodom, Mastodon(July 2006) -Avenged Sevenfold (Sept. 2006) -The Who (Nov. 2006) -Tragically Hip (Jan. 2007) -Heaven and Hell, Megadeth, Down (Mar. 2007) -Roger Waters (Jun. 2007) - he's the bass player/songwriter/vocalist from Pink Floyd The Roger Waters concert blew my mind. Awesome show. One show that I missed due to work (plus the fact that tickets sold out in a matter of minutes) was when Eric Clapton came to town. That would have been a good one to go to.
I'd have loved to have seen Heaven and Hell. My friend, in fact, has. He caught Tony Iommi's guitar pick! I was so jealous.
