Hi there, I'm looking for suggestions on something... I'm really in to watching gay themed movies, maybe a little too much haha... Does anyone have any suggestions on any? I also don't mind reading gay themed books... Open to suggestions on those too!
I just read a fantastic gay book last night that made me cry repeatedly ... I'm a sap that way! It's title: "366 Days". Author: Kiyoshi Tanaka .... go read this book now! But be prepared for the emotion!
"Latter Days" is one of my favs. Not gay, but seems to have a strong appeal to gay men: "9 to 5", with Dolly Parton, Lily Tomlin and Jane Fonda. "Wedding Banquet" -- moving, dramatic, with lots of very funny moments. "The Birdcage" -- Robin Williams and Nathan Lane as gay nightclub owners. How can you go wrong?
Some of my favorites: Blue Gate Crossing Love of Siam Wild Reeds Especially Blue Gate Crossing though.
I recommend Love of Siam as well. I always wanted the story to continue via a drama series, but I don't think that will ever happen :/ Here are some other movies that I suggest: Yossi and Jagger: Short movie about a relationship between two soldiers during a war. Lost in Paradise: Two Vietnamese guys in a relationship - one is a prostitute, and the other was kicked out of his house. I think this film tries to shed light on the gay community in Vietnam, whose people generally have socially conservative attitudes. From Beginning to End: A film about the relationship between two brothers.
