    Someone mentioned Hellsing Ultimate (the OVA), and I also strongly recommend that one. It's just dripping with sexiness and violence. It's based of the original manga, which is also really good. Skip the first released Hellsing series.

    FLCL is good. The Gunbuster and Diebuster OVAs are amazing and I would consider them to be among my absolute favorites.

    Evangelion was a halfway decent series, but the movies Rebuild of Evangelion 1.0 and 2.0 have been amazing. You really need to watch the entire original series and End of Evangelion to understand the new movies though. Any true anime fan has to have seen Eva.

    I'll have to give some of the recommendations I haven't seen on here a watch.

    it's based on a japanese video game, like Air. I highly doubt the games are in English lol.
