Lucas said he was passing it on to a new generation of filmmakers, so it should be a bug improvement upon the prequels.

    Well, this is exciting.

  4. I shall approach this with cautious optimism.

Hmm. Won't get my hopes up because I haven't liked a Star Wars movie since the original trilogy, but I'll be pleasantly surprised if it turns out good.

You guys are handling the fact DISNEY now owns the rights to Star Wars and is the one producing the new movie way better than the other forums I go to. >_>

Fan boys and what not, its a movie at the end of day not a lifestyle for crying out loud. But I knew the moment they announced this there would be lots of internet rage which will fall on deaf ears and the movie will come out etc etc etc.

After being on the internet for so long, you just know how folks will react to things.

  8. Lol everyone on Facebook is freaking out
I'll wait for some trailers or some clips first.
Also I did enjoy most of the prequels but they where very flawed.

My sentiments exactly, though Episode III was tolerable.

I wouldnt say that the prequel films were as good as the original trilogy, but i still enjoyed them. The same way as i enjoyed Indy 4, it wasn't as good as the first 3, but i really dont see how everyone thought it was terrible. I honestly dont know what to think about this new planned trilogy, i hope its good, but at the same time i feel almost 'meh' about it.

    Star Wars IS a lifestyle.

I'll personally hold all thoughts and feelings until the film comes out.

I was hoping they would stop at six. So much mythos has been created post-movie 6 that another movie would surely wipe it all out. A shame, really.

I literally jumped up and down and couldn't believe my eyes when I saw it on Yahoo! now I want to watch and read all my Star Wars stuff again. I wonder if the films will follow some of the books, like the Admiral Thrawn trilogy which I enjoyed, or if it'll be all-new source material. Either way, I'll be there at the midnight release of it!

me too. i'm wondering though if Disney's going to give future SW movies a more Pirates Of The Caribbean feel to it. but still, i'm pretty happy. I've been wanting to see what a post Empire galaxy looks like
