What was your favourite game of 2007? Basically every game-related website has had voting, but each seems to get a different result.

So vote from the ones above, or select "other" if yours isn't on the list.

Halo is gonna win cause this thread is full of Halo humpers.
However Orange Box is clearly the best game.

I must protest against your putting Rock Band and Guitar Hero 3 together in the same option. They are two very different games, and I personally think Rock Band is much better.

I don't play computer games at all but Markie does and he said Super Mario Galaxy (Wii), so I have voted for that on his behalf.

    Guitar Hero III. On Wii.

    I'm addicted to it

Though Phantom Hourglass comes a close second. I haven't played any of the others though, so my opinion is limited. Although the prequel to Assassin's Creed is now on DS, so I'm thinking of getting that.

As you can tell, I like Nintendo platforms

Out of that list, I had the most fun with Galaxy. It's a little sad to see the list overrun with 360 games but only two Wii games, one of them multiplatform. And only one handheld game....

Gamer Am I - I couldn't fit any more poll options. D= So since they are both new music-peripheral games I grouped them together.

And Wander - it would be silly if I just put an equal number of games for each format in the list, because I don't think anyone would disagree that the Wii has had a bit of a games drought that should hopefully break soon. Only Guitar hero III and Mario Galaxy were really up there with the games released on other platforms this year. It's not favouritism. =) Similarly, the 360 has had a massive year with lots of acclaimed games released on it - most third-party games are released on it as well as PS3 or PC, so it tends to have a port of the majority of highly-awarded games on other platforms (eg: Assassin's Creed, Call of Duty 4, etc). The fact is last year most of the really brilliant games got released on it in conjunction with other consoles - you'll notice the PS3 has a lot of games in the lsit too, despite having very few excellent exclusive titles it got a lot of the brilliant third-party titles that were also released on 360 and PC.

Oh, and Wolfbane - you're really missing out then! =O

I loved Creed, but it got a bit too repetitive. If they could have added a bit more variety and things to do, it would be perfect (sequels usually fix that sort of stuff, so waiting for #2 now! =D)

PS3 should have a good year:
    Metal Gear Solid 4
    Final Fantasy XIII
    Killzone 2
    Resistance 2
    Haze

However, MGS has always come out on Xbox a few months after (Sony-exclusivity contract expiry), Square is now friends with Microsoft (Infinite Undiscovery 360-exclusive, Last Remnant on PS3 and 360, Project Sylpheed and Vampire's Rain 360-exclusive (though both sucked). Haze is also not developed by Sony, but only an exclusivity contract held so it should go to 360 and PC a few months after release.

And finally, I remember all the hype around the original Killzone with even journalists labeling it a Halo-killer. They changed their tune though when it was released...so I wouldn't put too much faith in it yet. I personally believe it should stick handheld-exclusive, as the PSP Killzone was a top-down shooter that worked brilliantly. They've got Resistance now as a good exclusive FPS. Out of those 5 most anticipated PS3 games, only Killzone and Resistance 2 are published by Sony, and the market trend definitely shows that about 90% of third-party games end up getting released on 360 as well.

2007 was Year of the First-Person Shooter (Halo 3, Bioshock, Orange Box, CoD4, STALKER, UT3 and Crysis in the list above), but 2008 is looking like a good year for RPGs and open-world games like GTA4, Saint's Row 2 and Prototype.
