    Haha.
I'm a huge fan of punk music, The Prevaricators being my favourite.
    Anyone else into it?

    Yes! Yes!

More into metal myself, but I do have quite an extensive Punk collection.
Some favourites would be, Minor Threat, Bad Religion, Misfits and Ramones.
    Green Day's Genre are debatable.

Bad Religion is pretty great, and I love the Misfits.
I think I'd consider Green Day's very first album punk, It's got that sound, ya know?

Bad Religion was the first band to get me interested in Punk, was more than just, well just doing it for the sake of it, actually had their own views and weren't afraid to piss people off!!
Absolutely agree man, for me 39/smooth till Warning were their golden years, American Idiot was a great album, but from then onwards they had a new sound which was very 'meh'

I think mine was probably Sex Pistols, and I found Bad Religion's "American Jesus" and fell in love.
I couldn't find much more at that point, so really I just googled "Punk" and it came up with a blog called "Punk not Profit" and I was introduced to a lotta real old underground punk bands. I fell in love with the site, and managed to get a lot of rare albums and was thrilled. Now I'm completely hooked.

Exact same song that got me hooked on them! My friend recommended them, off to youtube I went, found that song and the rest is history
If the blog is still up and running then I'm definitely gonna check it out, sounds pretty sweet.

I grew up on 'Old School' punk, I spent many weekends at CBGB's in NYC, I sat with Debra Harry and Nick Ramone in those wonderful days, talkin' shit and all that..Yeah, I dig it, always have...

Doh! it was Joey, not Nick, It's Hell to be old...

Yes! Toten Hosen. Adverts. Clash. Bad Religion. Ramones. Patti Smith. Sex Pistols etc. I tend to prefer British Punk to American though.

Punk's not my favourite thing but there's some that I love. The Clash, Buzzcocks, Sex Pistols, Dead Kennedys etc

I've heard The Stooges called punk so if they count then definitely them too. Also I know most people think they're shit but I do like The Libertines, who I'd say you can call punk or at least garage rock.

Fuck yes, punk is amazing, although I've only started seriously listening to it comparatively recently. Mostly I prefer the early British stuff, bands like The Damned, The Adverts etc. and early 80s post-punk. 'Shot by both sides' by Magazine is one of my favourite songs of all time. And I'm a huge 60s garage punk fan, the bands that inspired the better known 70s punk. In fact most of the music I like could be described as punky, even if it technically doesn't fit in with what most people would define it.

"Music that inspired The Ramones, music inspired by The Ramones and The Ramones."

I think its more of a lifestyle than a genre, but musically, some of my fav bands right now are the Distillers, Contravene, Minor Threat, the Devotchkas, The Adolescents,.... early Green Day was more punk, now they're more pop-punk. I love it all, though. They still somewhat live the lifestyle... I also am really getting into the Misfits as well... a friend of mine got me back into punk- I was in a screamo phase for a while. So, yeah. Punk kicks ass. Always has. \m/
