Anyone else totally freaking out about this? I loved this so much. I loved the cliffhanger/way it's leading on. Vastra and Jenny are a kickass couple. And I totally do not have a huge crush on Clara. Yeah. Your thoughts?
I am hopelessly in love with Clara. I loved the episode though and the mystery we have moving forward with the rest of the season. Also definitely loved Vastra and Jenny. And Strax. My favorite scene was when she had to give one word answers. So wonderfully written. My favorite lines were "Takes one to snow one," "it's smaller on the outside!" and "I'm a lizard woman from the dawn of time and this is my wife." Mostly though, I just have a really big crush on Clara, haha.
It was great! Ian McKellan's voice as the intelligence was so badass. It also reminded me that Doctor Who is pretty damn cool with the LGBT inclusion. With Captain Jack, Vastra/Jenny and all that, it makes me pretty happy, even if our two trans characters are a piece of skin and a horse.
I was surprised that I loved it, because I usually find the Christmas specials boring. My favorite thing about it was that the snowflakes had teeth. For some reason, that made me crack up. April is too far away:tears:
The lesbian detective agency couple were good, as was Mr Potato Head. The new girls better than i thought she was gonna be. The episode though, was a dud.
I liked this one a lot, especially in comparison to previous specials. I like seeing a companion who can match the Doctor in speaking fast and being clever. And the chemistry between them was lovely. And of course, Vastra and Jenny will always be my favorite Victorian interspecies lesbian detective couple. I kind of wish that Victorian Clara could have been the new companion, though. It would have been an interesting change from always having modern day companions.
"I'm the clever one your the potato one" best line ever!:roflmao: Also Clara is super cute I love her, mis Amy and rory but the new companion seems cool and obviously interesting she's died two times! Oh and "Good evening I'm a lizard women from the dawn of time and this is my wife" also one of the best lines I died laughing!!:roflmao:
It was awesome. And it made me laugh more than usual, for a DW episode. I kinda wish he'd figured it out when she asked if the TARDIS had a kitchen.
Words can't express how happy i was to see both Straxton and Oswind alive. Cannot wait for the series to return!
It was better than the other half of Series 7. I really wanted Amy and Rory to have an excellent ending, but their half of S7 was pretty poor in my opinion because the story lines were dull and rushed. Anyway, Clara seems like an interesting character!
I feel sorry that Clara has to follow the Amy arc.. that's tough. I don't have such high hopes for this season.. not helped by the fact that the first half (apart from Asylum and Angels) was awful. They will have to do something ambitiously different with Clara to save it.
I'm excited for the new companion, they started her off well in this episode, especially with the reveal at the end. I loved Amy and Rory and they're definitely hard to follow, but I always end up liking everyone. I just hope the season gets better, as I agree with everyone else, with the exception of Asylum and Angels, it was rather unimpressive.
I always thought the Paul McGann episode was bad, until I saw this Christmas special. I will admit to not watching the whole programme, but I went a poked myself in the eye with a hot soldering iron as it seemed a more appealing way to waste my time. This was without doubt the worst ever Dr Who programme of all time.
I don't watch Dr Who but wanted to watch the Christmas Special because tumblr had been talking about it :9 I like the costume designs - especially Claras (it wasn't spectacular enough to make me start watching the series though I'm afraid =P )
