Honestly, I just can't get past the fact that the teddy bear has the same voice as Peter Griffin from Family Guy. That is the last voice I expected out of that character, and I find it really distracting.
I try to avoid anything made by Seth MacFarlane. It is funny how many people rent the movie from our library and bring it back with horror stories of sitting down to attempt to watch it with their kids, though.
It's was fair, but, to be honest, I wasn't expecting much from it. And I didn't really care for Mark Wahlberg in this role, and I usually don't have a problem with the man.
I was expecting it to much funnier than it was, it was fairly funny but not as funny as others had said it was
Ahh, c'mon Ethan, I used to like you! j/k Seriously, Seth MacFarlane can do no wrong. Everything that he touches winds up funny, and massively inappropriate (while not appearing so most of the time). This is what a good comedy writer is supposed to do. As for people bringing it back to the library after trying to watch it with their kids, it's not a kids movie, so that's not surprising at all - that's why it is "Rated R for crude and sexual content, pervasive language, and some drug use" (from IMDB). You should know what you're signing up for when you go get the movie, IMHO. It ain't no Shrek!
The amount of parody twitter accounts this movie has caused makes me want to launch everyone involved into the sun.
I think it would have been better with someone else in the lead role. I mean, Wahlberg is cute, sure. But he's not really funny...
