I was just watching some of the Golden Globes (just by accident, didn't even know it was on lol), and saw Jodie Foster's speech, and subsequent coming out. It really doesn't shock me in the slightest, I think a lot of people already sorta knew. Did you already suspect? Thoughts?
Yeah back in 2007, it was rumored. Honestly I'm not super shocked. Then again I'm never shocked when people come out
Hmm, good for her... Gotta say, it feels like 2012 really changed the tides. I cannot remember a year where more came out, and good to see that this new tradition is continuing!
I've known she was gay for a while but her speech was interesting. She jumped around the topic several times. She reminded me of myself when I come out. She confused a lot of people but in the same light she was very brave to talk about herself in such a public light. She's always been a very private person. I thought she was already out but apparently she had not fully come out yet. She's brave for doing so. She sounded kind of angry but I guess celebrities must be that way due to paparazzi and lack of privacy.
........ That's sad. ---------- Post added 14th Jan 2013 at 12:33 PM ---------- Everyone knew she was. I guess I'm old school. I thought everyone knew it. I even thought she was its with someone. She's the old style - just lived her life.
I thought she came out years ago... On another note, is being LGBT the latest celebrity fad? Carrying cute little dogs in handbags is soooo 2012!
I suspected she was gay when I first saw the movie Panic Room (I was 13 at the time). Her voice, mannerisms, and everything else made me wonder. So I Google'd it, and sure enough... But I actually thought she came out a while ago.
Waaaa? I was clueless o.o I mean yes, she wasn't the ladiest woman out there but she never gave me a reason to suspect in the films I've watched. Here's the speech for anyone whose interested:
I thought she had come out in 2007 so wasn't really shocked when she talked about it. But good for her for talking about it last night! I was proud to hear her talking about being a lesbian it was a brave thing for her to do!
I asked my dad if he saw the speech. He was like "she is going to be your new step mom" . I was like "dad she is gay." He was like aww man , I would have never known. Yay jodie!
