    This has been done on various forums ++ FB and other places, but I just love talking about my favourite albums and hearing what other people's favourites are. Mine, or some of mine, in no particular order are;
    Thin Lizzy-Live And Dangerous
Red Hot Chilli Peppers - Blood Sugar Sex Magic
Stevie Wonder - Songs In The Key Of Life
    Paul Simon - Grace Land
Simon And Garfunkel - Greatest Hits
Rage Against The Machine - Rage Against The Machine
    Judas Priest - British Steel
Florence + The Machine - Ceremonials
    Coldplay - Mylo Xyloto

That's just a few. People normally say others that I love as well.

The first one I'd say would be Nirvana's Nevermind. The first album I properly loved when I was around 14-15 and is basically what got me into music. Still love it now.

The Streets' Original Pirate Material is not a very well known album but I could relate to a lot when I was 17-18 ish and was pretty much the soundtrack to this time in my life.

Then The Smiths' self titled was huge for me when I was around 19-20 in terms of accepting my sexuality and I still love this album more than any other.

A few other of my absolute favourite albums would be The Stone Roses, Unknown Pleasures, Illmatic, The Clash, 36 Chambers and many more.

I would have said Never Mind, but I only listen to it occasionally. I like a bit of The Streets as well. I guess my musical choices aren't really connected to my sexuality or anything to do with gender or anything, I just love music.

Rammstein's Reise Reise (especially the song after which it's named) as well as most of their music has been uplifting and has a very "**** you guys, i'm going to have a good time" kind of vibe (atleast to me). Orchestral Metal is always uplifting. Simon and Garfunkel's sound of silence is always a good one to listen to.
The Hoosier's Trick to Life album
    Edvard Grieg's Morning Mood.
    Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata.
I think all of these have shaped me, and there are some I haven't mentioned (can't remember their names!)

Yeah same, just you asked which albums had "shaped and influenced" me so I thought I'd give an explanation for the ones which had "shaped and influenced" me the most :icon_bigg Obviously I'd still like The Smiths if I wasn't gay, just that it means that much more to me that I can relate to the lyrics.

Haha I can tell leer (^) is from Manchester  Second Coming though really?

I seem to have phases during each quarter of the year where I listen to the same albums over and over again, and at least one of them relates to something to occurs in my life.
This quarter it's Of Machines - Becoming Close to Closure, that's the name of the song, the name of the album is As If Everything Was Held In Place

  9. Bob Dylan-Bringing It All Back Home
    Bob Dylan-Blood on the Tracks
    Bob Dylan-Highway 61
    Tom Waits-Rain Dogs
    Tom Waits-Real Gone
    Leonard Cohen-Ten New Songs
    Leonard Cohen-I'm Your Man
    Nick Cave-Boatmans Call
    Bruce Springsteen-Nebraska
    Bruce Springsteen-Born To Run
    Warren Zevon-Warren Zevon
Warren Zevon-Bad Luck Streak In Dancing School
    White Stripes-Elephant
    Captain Beefheart-Trout Mask Replica
    Beatles-Abbey Road

What I'm saying is there's lots of music thats important to me :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

That's a really strong list there of vintage music. Three of Dylan's very finest too!

I like Beefheart's "Clear Spot" a lot. Rolling Stones Sticky Fingers, Replacements albums very much.

    1. The Red Hot Chili Peppers - Blood Sugar Sex Magik.
Actually, any album by them. I love a lot of bands, but it's rare I find one that actually feels as if their music has become embedded as a part of me and my personality. Everything about them is perfect: their music, their talent (especially ex-member Frusciante's talent in combination with Anthony's lyrics = bliss), their personalities, their longevity, the history of them as a band.

    2. Jimi Hendrix - Are You Experienced
    3. Incubus - A Crow Left of the Murder
    4. Incubus - Make Yourself
(Great band all around, with lyrics which have actual messages behind them that make you think. They really helped me with figuring out who I was/am, and helped me think about my place in the world as a young adult. The entire band is talented as a whole and Brandon Boyd is, in my opinion, one of the most consistently talented singers in modern alternative rock. Flawless when performing live.)
    5. Neil Young - After the Gold Rush

I'm gonna go with Lay of Thrym by Tyr. I identify pretty strongly with Norse culture for being badasses. "Take your Tryant" is the best song on the album. Yep.

They're really underrated, but Electra Heart and The Family Jewels by Marina and the Diamonds.

With both of them, it feels as if Marina knows what I'm going through, and has translated all my feelings into words. Even though she doesn't, I feel as if she knows me more than almost everybody in real life. Songs like Lies, Numb, Teen Idle and the unreleased Scab & Plaster literally speak to me and resonate a chord.

    Cliché, I know.
