Well, after having played around in Ubuntu, Kubuntu, PCLinuxOS, and other distro's I finally took the plunge and successfully migrated to a complete Gentoo-based install. Check it out, it's shiny, more customizable than the above mentioned distro's, AND (this is the killer) it supported ALL the components in my Alienware laptop straight from the install. (!) (!) (!) (!) (!) (!) (!) (!) (!) (!) (!) (!) (!) (!) (!) (!) (!) (!) (!) (!) Just had to tell someone. Maybe one of you will care. I dunno.
