Does anyone here read Stephen King? I've read The Shining and looking foward to the sequel to it being released this year and am reading 11/22/63. Both are very, VERY good indeed.

I LOVE Stephen King. I'm the third biggest fan I know. My favorite stuff is the books he wrote with Peter Straub. Whether you like horror or fantasy The Talisman is just awesome.

I love Stephen King! I have been reading his books for 30 years. The Stand, Christine, The Tommynockers, Salem's Lot are among my favorites. June

Stephen King is definitely one of my favorite authors. I think the first book I read by him was IT and I loved it. I've also read Carrie, The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon, On Writing, Cell, Under the Dome, Salem's Lot and the first Dark Tower book. Not only do I just like the horror genre in general, but I like his style. I really like how he tells the stories through the points of view of many different characters, and how his characters are usually just average, everyday people confronted with these outlandish events and horrors.

My favorite book by him would probably be The Running Man. The Mist is my favorite movie adaptation.

i love hie books. one of my favorite is Duma King which is about an artist and some supernatural stuff that goes one while he is painting on the island of Duma Key. another good one is Cell and 11/22/63 as well. also mile 81 is good too but kind of short and its about a killer car haha. some of the stuff he comes up with is strange. but i highly recommend that you read Duma Key. its amazing.

I have read the Dark Tower saga, which I loved and from that it got me into reading Salem's Lot (need to finish it though). Also watched Carrie and Misery (isn't Kathy Bates wicked in it?)

Stephen King is one of my favourite authors! It's not really the "horror" aspect of his books that I like, it's how good he is at developing his characters. He's really, really good at studying how "normal" people would react to "abnormal" circumstances. I've read several of his books, and my top three would definitely be "IT", "The Stand", and "The Long Walk" (written under the pseudonym "Richard Bachman"). Just saw "The Mist" movie adaptation the other day, and now I'm willing to read the novel it is based on. If you like Stephen King, then check out Dean Koontz, too, I read a couple of books by him last year and they were scary and interesting.
