    I've watched Perks Of Being A Wall Flower which isn't exactly gay themed, but has a gay guy in it, and I really liked it :slight_smile:

    Since I liked it so much I've searched up some gay themed movies and have so far watched;
    The Curiosity Of Chance
    The Birdcage
    Velvet Goldmine

    And I've been watching the US version of Queer As Folk too, but I want to get back into the movies!!

    Do you guys have any recommendations? :slight_smile:

    Well...I know some gay films that are pretty good, films where the main story is a gay romance...if that's what you want Shelter and Weekend are both excellent films. A film that isn't explicitly gay but has a gay undercurrent to it is The War Boys. A Home At The End Of The World is good and different. I've also heard good things about The Kids Are Alright, but I've never seen it. Those are the only ones I know of from the top of my head.

    If you have Netflix, they have a gigantic selection of LGBT films. Not all of them are all that good, but they are there.

    OH I thought of another loving, this one actually has a lesbian storyline instead of gay, Loving Annabelle. It was really good, in my opinion.

    Shelter is good indeed. Another one I liked was the British Beautiful thing. I also recommend the Argentinian Plan B, although I wouldn't suggest it for people who have a crush on their best straight friend or something, because it kind of gives a too positive message on straight men turning gay for someone they might fall for. The kids are alright has some really good performances and a great cast, but I was not crazy about it. Mysterious Skin has to be one of my favourite but also harshest movies I've ever watched. Last, but not least, the Canadian C.R.A.Z.Y. is a great coming-of-age story, with a great ending.

    I've seen way more, but those are the ones really worth mentioning imo.

    I recommend: *Beautiful Thing*, Weekend, Shelter, *Prayers for Bobby*, Brokeback Mountian, *Were the World Mine* (this one is superb), *Get Real*, Redwoods, Another Gay Movie, *Summer Storm* (Sommersturm), and those are some of my favorites.
    Have Fun Watching. :wink:

    My Beautiful Laundrette is a really good British movie. And Daniel Day Lewis is in it to sweeten the deal.

    unf. "Shelter" is my favorite. Love that movie. Dont think I saw "Latter Days" mentioned. Thats another good one. I recently watched "Private Romeo," which is like a gay adaptation of Romeo & Juliet. Its a little hard to follow since they still use the original prose, but I really liked it. Like someone else said, get Netflix. They have a huge selection of gay films.
