I'm really excited about this movie. The Conjuring looks like it is going to fantastically horrifying! Is 2013 going to be the year of great horror movies? With the remake of the Evil Dead and this movie I'm beginning to think so.
0.50 - I have literally never moved at such a high speed than I just did jumping out of my bed after seeing that.
As much as I love them, I must admit I somewhat torture myself by going to Upcoming Horror Movies website, and looking over the movies that are slowly being made, or those in production Hell. =( I'm dying to go see the new Evil Dead movie. >_<
I don't know about you, but this looks like another one of those "Jump Scares: The Movie" type of horror films (based on the trailer, anyway). I don't like jump scares on the Internet, and I don't want to pay money for a movie full of them. A few is okay as long as they have a good story to work with. However, if the movie relies on nothing but jump scares to grab the audience's attention, then it's not doing a good job IMO. The folks at HITB summed this aspect up perfectly for me:
I often do worry about that, that it will be a bunch of jump points with all the scary stuff being revealed in the trailer. That's how I felt when I saw Sinister :bang:
Check this out - the movie was made for a PG-13 rating, but it was rated R because of how scary the critics thought it was. The accuracy of the movie to the actual event is what is supposed to be terrifying and apparently it was portrayed flawlessly. I'll be in line for this movie July 19. http://www.hollywood.com/news/movie...fying-secrets-the-conjuring-rated-r-james-wan
Ooh, I saw this trailer last night while waiting on the Evil Dead to start. Come to think of it, nearly all of the trailers I saw last night were pretty good. I'll probably be heading to see this one as well when it hits theaters. ^_^
