If there's one gay stereotype that I'd looove to be true it would have to be the one saying most gays love ABBA. Because... how can you not love them?

So. Am I the only one who loves the band?

*come on, stereotype gods, don't let me down*

I honestly don't like their voices and the lyrics, and most of the beats.

Though I love 808's and 909's(drum kits used in their songs) I don't like it in that format.

So I can honestly say I don't like Abba, and my mom loves them so I have had my chance to even give them some merit, but I was never into super fluffy music like that.

Though it is positive so I can't fault it for that.

I have a theory. There are two types of music fans in the world. Type one like at least one Abba song, possibly more. Type two are liars.

"Chicken Tikka, tell me what's wrooooooong..."

I definitely don't fit that one. To be honest, there are loads of bands and artists with supposed "gay followings", and they're mainly all female divas. I can't say that I'm all that drawn to a lot of those type of things.

As for Abba, while I wouldn't class myself a number 1 fan (to be honest, I only know their obvious hits), there's much to like about their music on the whole. Of course, not all their tunes are pure gold, and some of their tunes have been overplayed to death at things like weddings and parties (I don't think I've heard "Dancing Queen" sober in about ten years), but their music is so happy and easy to listen to. It's not deep stuff, but it serves its purpose well as entertaining, catchy music.

    Oh, is it? Damn. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

I like one of her songs though (the only one I know of), the one with gypsies and tramps.

I agree, although I do think they have some (kinda) deep songs as well, both in terms of lyrics and melodic line(s). However, most of them are on their last album (and post), which was released at the time when their popularity started decreasing, so they're not that well known. But they're awesome and pretty complex - especially if you compare them with their pop hits.

I have great memories of nights where me an a friend just sang songs from ABBA and similar artists. I really hate Take A Chance On Me, though

I love ABBA because it brings back many happy childhood memories. My mother used to have lots of video cassettes and we had an old radio/cassette player that had built-in christmas lights and we used to dance to ABBA a lot. Mostly me, my brother and my mother in a darkened room with the lights on the radio changing constantly. We pretended we were in a disco...:icon_bigg

Oh, so it's stolen from someone the german guy murdered and disposed of in a ditch. I can't see another reason why someone would 'get rid' of an ABBA autographed anything. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

No, but seriously - so awesome. ^_^

Abba's music (at least some of the songs) is the kind of music that I am embarrassed to admit that I like...imagine me: gay!
