Does anyone else LOVE these documentaries. With today's camera technology, we can see images of the planet, under water plants and weird animals that are so colourful. Everything is so clear and seriously interesting to me: I could watch all day. I just hate it when one animal kills another one as part of nature's 'food chain'. Just seems unfair, but there you go. I'm thinking of buying some fish for my bedsit, to keep me company.
Netflix has TONS of documentaries like this and they're excellent. Sorry I can't name any specifically right this second.
youtube has some animal fights i watch time to time also, nobody sympathize bacteria that got eaten by phagocytes...
I was hooked on Planet Earth and purchased it on HD-DVD "back in the day". Something about David Attenborough's voice is soothing and yet keeps you interested in what you're watching. If his voice didn't do it for you then the visuals would have. There are lots of stunning shots of this wonderful planet. One of these days I'll get around to watching Frozen Planet and Life.
Yes I love watching these documentaries! You learn so much and get to see places and creatures in great detail and clarity. Youtube have a great variety of doco's which I download and burn to DVD. Some nights I'd rather watch that than the crap that is on TV!
Planet Earth is amazing, Sir David Attenborough has such a way with words it really brings everything alive, and HD itself just adds that something extra special to the visuals.
If you haven't seen it already I greatly recommend my favourite documentary Yellowstone, a 3 part BBC documentary series on Yellowstone National Park. The scenery porn is incredible. Also, it has the added bonus of adorable otters - if you're into that of course.
