I have a chance to download a ton of new music, and I'm wondering what you guys love to listen to so I can try some new music. Your favorite bands? Artists? Even classics! I need some fresh music to listen to.

    Thanks!

All I ask is that it isn't Country or Rap, unless it's EXTREMELY GOOD Rap. lol

The new album by Ms Mr is amazing. It's called Secondhand Rapture and it's sort of dark electronic pop that's a little gothy with female vocals. Check it out!

This is purely from the list of bands I listen to:

Going with bands you are more likely to like: Epica, Kamelot, Apocalyptica, Queen.

Going with bands I don't think you'll like, but who cares: Dimmu Borgir, Finntroll, Amon Amarth, E Nomine (or Schlafes Bruder), Nekrogoblikon, Djerv.

On a different note: You could look into Willam Belli, and Courtney Act if you prefer more ...pop I guess they're called?

I'm not even big on "Pop" either, I'm more of a Rock/Soul/Alternative kinda guy. I'll definitely try the music you mentioned though, it looks pretty interesting XD

Then I guess, out of all those I named, the ones you have the highest chances of liking would be either Kamelot or Queen (who doesn't know about Queen already though?).

I'll just post a bunch of link you can look into if you're curious (or for anyone else)

Epica is a symphonic metal band. (Both very different) Storm The Sorrow , The Last Crusade

Kamelot is said to be a "metal" band, and although maybe it was initially, it morphed into something pretty different. Their song "Ghost Opera" pretty much sets the tone for their music nowadays.

Apocalyptica, metal band but with Cellos. Path

Queen, rock band. Bohemian Rhapsody of course.

Dimmu Borgir, black metal, although they've changed a little. Progenies Of The Great Apocalypse, Gateways

Finntroll, folk metal (sung in Swedish). Trollhammeren , Häxbrygd

Amon Amarth, death metal (viking themed). Cry of the Black Birds , Live For the Kill

    E Nomine (Schlafes Bruder)
unusual combination of trance, techno, and vocals which closely resemble Gregorian singing and chanting. E Nomine stopped and returned recently as Schlafes Bruder
    Schwarze Sonne , Heilig

Nekrogoblikon, some sort of metal. If anything the music video is worth every seconds. No One Survives.

Djerv, rock/heavy metal/black metal mix. Madman

Not going to post Willam Belli because most of his videos are just vulgar (which is the main reason why I love them), but you can look up "Boy Is A Bottom" if you're curious.

Overloading the post with links.

I wouldn't say I like metal as much as I would say that the bands I like happens to be metal bands, if that makes any sense. Most the bands I listen to have a few particularities that sets them apart from the traditional kind of metal, whether it's the singers, the scores, the instruments used, etc.

Not so 'new music' in that it sounds like Fleetwood Mac, but it came out in 2012 nonetheless. And it's lovely lovely lovely.
