::: Okay this is the first time I've tired this on any computer so I'm just making sure I don't screw-up my computer before I try this out. :::

I got a free DL of Windows XP and I want to dual-boot my Vista system.

I know I need a new partition. But when I DL Windows do I put it in the new partition and then somehow extract the files while in Vista? (I can't DL to a DVD; this is the only way I know how to dual-boot).

Any info so I don't mess up would be nice. Thanks :smilewave

Well I was able to get the file on a single :CD: (yes this is a legal copy) but my computer doesn't run the step-up. So I fixed once issue just to get another.

The most important thing is to back up ALL your work, music, photos and anything else important to a USB drive, DVDs or whatever before you start.

You will be repartitioning the hard drive which usually works fine but there is a chance it could go wrong leaving you with everything gone.
