This was a triumph! I'm making a note here, "W-T-F?" It's hard to overstate my confusion So anyone wanna take a stab at how this was done? Green screening and pre-staging right?
Aww! I liked the ending! ^^ I can figure the dissapearing part, but the being on the beach part - the main focus of the trick - is pretty hard for me to fathom ^^ I have a lot of respect for David Copperfield, especially how he doesn't play his tricks off as being magic...just very clever illusions. Probably the best explanation is that the trick was part of an Aperture Science experiment involving portal technology intended for troop transportation across the battlefield. It was highly publicized - as an illusion, preformed by a magician - to find out what kind of explanations people would come up with to rationalize the "trick." In fact, Aperture Science researchers are probably reading this thread right now! in all honesty, I'm so baffled, I'm not even going to venture a guess. The presentation was great, the "proof" was well-thought out, and I'm sure people are still asking themselves how he did it ^^
