So it was just released that Matt Smith would no longer be playing as the doctor after the seventh season ended. Feelings on this topic? Any guesses on who will take his place? Will the doctor finally become a ginger?

I don't know what to think really. I like Matt smith, he's a cool guy, and a great choice for the doctor. But, as sad as it is to see him go, it's always exciting having a new actor. Plus, smith has been there a few seasons, so I kind of expected it :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

    Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!! :dead:

I'll be honest in saying that when Smith took over for Tennant, I wasn't exactly on board with the change. That said, Smith has grown on me ever since the moment in The Eleventh Hour, where he spoke the line, "Hello, I'm The Doctor. Basically--run."
Still, he has had moments of hit and miss, but in the end, I've over all enjoyed his portrayal of the Doctor, his whimsy, his charm, and his bow ties.
I'm not ready for his departure, and it leaves me almost scared of what is to come, silly sounding as that may be. I dread that final moment.:icon_sad:

    *cries*

    Ohmygoshyes.

Well, maybe no. She is wonderful as someone who can antagonise the Doctor and get one-up on him; that wouldn't be the same if she was the Doctor herself.

I reckon Rupert Grint would make a funny AND ginger Doctor, but we'll see. They tend to be actors who've yet to hit the limelight, so chances are it'll be someone we've never heard of.

    Any objections?
I've never watched Doctor Who but I would start if this happened.

Same. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: Though, my sister's boyfriend ranted for like an hour a few months ago about why the Doctor can never be female.

Lol. It was hilarious, cause my sister had read something on an article about it, and he just went off.

If the Doctor ever DID become a ginger, I agree that there's no better than Rupert. But when Moffat's involved, nothing ever seems to go the characters' way, eh?

I'm not surprised that Matt Smith is leaving and I hope he moves on to bigger things. I doubt the 12th Doctor will be female though.
