Does anybody know of any essay contests? Either for fun, recognition, money-- doesn't really matter, preferably recognition or money (but fun too because I need to see where I stand). I've been googling a few but I need a buuunch under my arsenal! And if you know of any lgbt contests that'd be great too! And actually, just a food pellet for thought, anybody ever think of doing an EC essay contest???
If there were an EC essay contest, I'd enter. But other than that, check around educational/literary websites for contests.
Heh can us petty members actually arrange for something like that or would the moderators have to do that stuff?
It would be unofficial unless sanctioned I guess, but the way I see it is this: Someone would post the entry thread, and after all submissions are in, we'd post the discussion/judgment thread. It would either be judged by a select panel, or straight popularity with a poll. Another forum I'm on does occasional contests of member submissions, and they work swimmingly without staff interaction.
I can't imagine there will be more than like 20 entries. Unless we have a lot more writers on here than expected, hehe. In that case I guess we could do more than one poll thread and hold people to only voting for one.
Ooo! I like that idea! It WOULD be awesome to make it an ongoing thing! Yeah I was thinking multiple threads might have to work. Heh alright I can try to put something together with this. I think you'd be surprised though, i think there are more writers on here than we know lols
